Welcome to the 21st Century Aerospace Cluster at New Mexico State University.  The Aerospace Cluster is one of the five major, cross-disciplinary research clusters  at NMSU under the sponsorship of the Vice Provost for Research.  The vision of this cluster is to form a mutually-supportive group of educators, researchers, and practitioners to advance 21st century space-related opportunities for teaching, research, and service at NMSU and in the region.

Our Mission

The mission of the 21st Century Aerospace Cluster is to

  • Expand the number of cross-disciplinary projects on campus,
  • Utilize the strengths of other research clusters that have common interests, or can benefit from a space affiliation, especially in Homeland Security and Remote Sensing,
  • Use the existing expertise and facilities to grow capabilities on campus to support commercial space opportunities.
  • Increase the numbers of students entering Space-related careers through enrollment in K-12 and university programs focused on preparation in the STEM fields.
